Q & A
Q.How do I add a Lilypie Baby Days signature to my Yahoo email? I'm using the new Yahoo mail interface.
AThe new Yahoo interface, no longer accepts HTML signatures, but you can still use the Lilypie tickers by pasting the images directly into the Signature box. These instructions are for using Internet Explorer on a Windows box, or Firefox (PC or Mac). It doesn't work with Safari, and so far I haven't had any success on any other platform.Have 2 windows open, one for your Yahoo account and one for Lilypie.
- In Yahoo, under the Options dropdown (link at top right), choose Mail Options
- Click on the Signature link in the left hand menu
- Click on the radio button (circle) to the left of Show a signature on all outgoing messages.
- Stay in Rich Text mode (you are in Rich text mode when the tool bar appears along the top of the Signature box.
- For Internet Explorer:
- Right click on your ticker image and choose Copy.
- Right click on your Yahoo Signature box and choose Paste.
- For Firefox: Click and drag the ticker image from Lilypie to the Yahoo Signature box
- Your ticker image should now display in the Signature box.
- Click on the Save Changes button and you are done. The Save Changes link is top mid-left, above the word Signature.
Q.How do I add a Lilypie Baby Days signature to my classic Yahoo email?
AThe classic version of Yahoo mail has an option which allows you to copy and paste in HTML for use as a signature. This varies according to the browser you are using. The following is how I added it to my free Yahoo account using Internet Explorer 5.5 or MSN Explorer on a Windows based computer. (It won't work for any other browser or operating system). Instructions for the new Yahoo Mail are here.
- Go to Yahoo mail, select Mail Options
- Under Personalization, click Signature
- Check View HTML source. If you don't see this option, click on the Color and Graphics link above the message box.
- Paste in your customised HTML from the Create Baby Days page.

- Check Add signature to all outgoing messages if you want the Baby due-date signature added to all your Yahoo emails.
- Uncheck View HTML source to see your Lilypie Baby Days signature.
- Click on Save and you have created your signature.
Q.The Lilypie Baby Days image isn't showing up in my Yahoo mail, all I get is the text in a link. How do I get it to show up?
AFor the new Yahoo mail, you do not use the code snippet, you use the image itself. There are instructions for the new Yahoo Mail here. For Yahoo Classic, the most important thing is that you click on View HTML source BEFORE you paste in your code snippet. It is step 3 of the instructions here. After you have pasted it in un-select "View HTML source" to see a preview of your signature.
The next thing to try is checking your mail settings. For instance; you may have your email set to block images or you may be composing emails as plain text.
Blocking Images:
- If you are blocking images you will see this message at the bottom of your email: The HTML graphics in this message have been displayed. <Edit Preferences - What's This?> If you click on Edit preferences in the above message, it will take you to the Spam Protection dialogue. At the bottom you will see Image Blocking. I have it set to "Block images in messages that Spam Guard thinks are Spam". Or you can go to Mail / Options / Spam protection to get to the same dialogue.
- If you want your Lilypie Baby Days to display as an image, you need to make sure you are composing your emails in HTML. To check the send format go to Mail / Options / General Preferences. You will see a heading Composing E-mails make sure the Mode is set to: Compose messages as color and graphics.
Q.How do I delete my signature from my Yahoo account?
AIn Yahoo:
- Select Mail Options
- Under Personalization, click on Signature
- Select the ticker and click on your delete button. Press Save and your signature is gone.
Q.How do I have 2 or more Lilypie Baby Days in my Yahoo signature?
AFor the new Yahoo mail interface, you just add your ticker as per these instructions, then just click on your Return key whenever you want to start a new line. For Classic Yahoo, you need to put a line break <br /> tag between the ticker's HTML so the images know to start on a new line. The code will then look something like this:
I have found that if you add one ticker in Classic Yahoo, save and then come back to add another the tickers don't display correctly. I recommend putting the two tickers together in a plain text editor like Notepad (using rich text editors like Wordpad or Word can cause problems) and then copying and pasting the whole lot into your email signature. Notepad comes standard with all installations of Windows, you will find it in your Start menu under Accessories or just click on Run in your Start menu and type in notepad. Then click on OK and it will start up.
